Probably writing about something stupid or riding my bike somewhere dumb. I like making maps.

You might say that I'm getting a little too comfortable with this drone. This building has suffered three fires and still looks more structurally sound than some new builds I've seen...

Here's their playlists on YouTube, in case you were wondering what scum like this watch (including some of my videos in the architecture playlist). Just maddening.

Videos on history bring out the worst people imaginable.

It reminds me of the quote by Octavia E. Butler, “They have no power to improve their lives, but they have the power to make others even more miserable. And the only way to prove to yourself that you have power is to use it.”

The bells at the Cathedral of St. Anthony in November 2022. I love living near churches with bells like this! Super helpful to know what time it is when you're working outside.

Sometimes I feel like the goofiest goober in town. I wish I enjoyed my day job as much as I do filming stuff like this! Coming to YouTube on Friday.

#Detroit has been trying to look like the suburbs for decades. I hope we stop doing that. If we wanted to live in the suburbs, we'd move there. Look at all those damn parking lots 😭

Two Sides of the Trail | December 2019

Shot with a Yashica 124 TLR I had just inherited and Kodak TriX 400. Somewhere in Genesee County. I just got this camera out again and hope to use it in the next few weeks.

I was momentarily blinded by rage when I first assembled this transformation. I truly cannot understand how anyone EVER thought that this was a good idea.

Go ahead, make my day.

Another day, another boomer getting called racist on YouTube

These before-and-after images never get happy, huh?

Getting smoother with the drone, but still have a lot to learn. This feels like free promo for Meijer 😂

Is it fair to say that this structure might be in better shape had we not built this next door? I'd say so.

Over 400 acres. Just sitting there.

Here’s a snippet from my video on the Southwest #Detroit Hospital, which will soon be demolished to make way for the new Detroit City FC stadium. I had to nerf this to 480p resolution to fit on BlueSky, so watch the full 9-minute and 33-second video in 4k: youtu.be/LGrpu5bnH4A

I see your plan and propose an addition to it. I’m sick of riding around that dumb GM factory.

Highways have taken (and continue to take) so much from us. You can see the old Western Market across Michigan Avenue in the first image, and the hospital in the second.

You thought that I’d go to the Pupusería y Restaurante Salvadoreño and not share it on Bluesky? Really? You thought wrong.

This is probably my favorite drone clip so far. I didn’t include it in tomorrow’s YouTube video, but this building is the topic of the video. Hopefully, I’ll include some drone shots in next week’s video. This is a 1080p export so that the file could be uploaded to #Detroit Bluesky.

The new drone certainly isn’t good in low light, but I think I’ll have a lot of fun with this thing. In frame: St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church in #Detroit, built 1918~1930, closed in 1989, reopened as St. Augustine and St. Monica Catholic Church in 1990. Designed by Donaldson and Meier.

Here’s the difference between taking the ‘safe’ route using greenways and taking 'less safe' surface streets in #Detroit that are already wide enough to accommodate bike infrastructure (but don’t) from my home to work.

This new multi-use path in Delray alongside Jefferson is SO lovely. Can we please do this along every spoke street in the city?! This one only exists because of the new bridge; this is one of the least populated corners of #Detroit
