My whole life my pet peeve has been willful ignorance and stupidity. To my everlasting dismay and sorrow it seems to be a distinguishing characteristic of the U.S.

Trump doesn't care about anyone being killed. It's a convenient excuse in countries he takes a notion to plunder, and an excuse for inserting himself into peace negotiations where he thinks he can use it to get a peace prize. He is a dangerous person.

Thank you for your comments. We shouldn't need someone to point out something so obvious, but Americans have enjoyed so much freedom that we take it for granted. We feel entitled to the blessings of democracy. We're not. Freedom depends on a civil society.
