Those folks are a tiny minority. The faster they leave (even if they do take their $$$ with them) the better. I hear Eastern Oregon is nice this time of year.

I traded living in deep red Newberg (conservative wingnut Bill Post was our state rep before he moved to TX... good riddance!) for Waldport (our state rep David Gomberg is terrific). Waldport is full of incredibly decent and gracious folks. My neighbors are the best part of Waldport.

Actually, I worked for a defense contractor in the 70s. That hammer was the result of a law that required project overhead costs to be EQUALLY allocated among all items on an invoice, not weighted by cost. That changed at some point. But it never really was a $700 hammer.
