At Fox News, I have read multiple comments along the lines of "I heard no booing" and people vehemently calling others "liars" who stated that Vance was booed. The diagnosis that comes to mind here is 'liability-incurring, selective deafness'.

Good point. On top of it, what Adorno wrote abot the Nazis: that they are gamblers, overplaying their hand, may be true of all Fascists. Also, in Europe, the Greenland crisis put an end to appeasement already during peace time, and hopefully not too late.
