D-rank strategist, writer, amateur programmer, and DEATH BATTLE researcher. I love video games and mysteries.
People making this argument seem to think immortality would also mean people cannot forget things or rediscover old joys.

E33 is fantastic, but from the way some people treat it, you'd think it was the first ever turn-based RPG in the history of video games.

Which... it might be for some of the people nominating it, considering how much the game awards has historically ignored the genre.

I'd love to peer into a reality where Metaphor and E33 were released exactly as they are now, but they swapped art-styles. Same story, gameplay, ETC but Metaphor is now quasi-photorealistic, while E33 is cel-shaded.

LOL, it is such nonsense that people insist Dark Souls isn't a JRPG.

If a Polish game dev made an RPG and a bunch of people outside of Poland started claiming it's 'not Polish' because it's not similar enough to the Witcher, those people would be told to fuck off, and rightfully so.

"If AI becomes prevalent that will stop bad art from being made."

Fuck you, the world needs more sincere, unhinged bad art. AI wishes it could make anything remotely as powerful and human as Tommy Wiseau's The Room.

You say this as if Breaking Bad with Stand Battles wouldn't be a literary masterpiece.

LOL I have nothing against someone who delves into rabbit holes or uses conspiracies as a thought experiment (within reason). But there's always been an underlying antisemitism to many of them. Conspiracies were never exclusively a 'hippy' thing.

Braid is a lot less impressive when its competition is anything besides middling XBLA titles. It's almost comical how much Celeste and any competent indie platformer from the last 10 years kicks the absolute shit out it in terms of writing and overall quality.

I particularly liked the moment where the empathetic-less, militant asshole who wanted to 'purge the weak' was unexpectedly sniped in an assassination attempt the day before 9/11.
