new review up on shinobi: art of vengeance!

the first in sega's planned revival of several dormant IPs, it's quite a looker, and a lot fun to boot!... but it left me with a feeling of disappointment. is it still worthy of a recommendation?

beat last battle on genesis. it's a good example of one of those games that's not difficult, just very unforgiving. it's also a good example of a "you should play more "5/10" games" game

although it makes me want to install a region switch cause i wanna see real kenshiro explode dudes for real

the ending screen to last battle on sega genesis. aarzak (definitely not kenshiro from fist of the north star) looks backward at the night sky populated with stars and a superimposed "THE END" text while riding a horse near a post-apocalyptic city

yeah, this all sounds pretty similar to what i experienced

considering this is the first named game that came out of that announcememt sega made to revive several dead IPs, i still have hope that the rest /could/ be good, but it's still just cautious optimism with not much to back it up lol
