New day, new article! Here's a fresh piece on Dreamcast delight Virtual On: Oratorio Tangram, "...a riot of metal and lasers conveyed via clean lines and vivid colours":

Everything listed today is Japanese music or music related games. Some of my favorite artists. Cocco, Love Psychedelico, Amuro Namie, Puffy, Asian Kung-Fu Generation. And I am bias, but I think the prices are not bad.

Oh absolutely! I'm impressed they dared to make it, even if it doesn't work.

Me too! It's always worth hearing someone else's thoughts, even (sometimes especially) when they don't align with your own!
kimimithegameeatingshemonster.com
That's exactly what I'm hoping for!
(On a slight tangent: I do feel gaming discussion in general can get too caught up in "being right" in some way - ex: FAQs/skills/technical info/lore-based facts - and could do with a bit more "This is how it made me feel"

The same pressures that have you desperately trying to make a success out of your game are the same pressures that have driven games media into the ground. It's all victim to the same economic crisis. There's no conspiracy, no lack of interest. Everyone is just broke af

Look. I totally get the despair and frustration. But every couple of weeks someone else is asking "where's press coverage for indie games?" and like, have you been under a rock? It's been torn to pieces my dudes! The devastation of games media has been widely talked about!
kimimithegameeatingshemonster.com
Exactly! Sorry for not spewing out scrapeable ~content~ that can be easily repurposed, I suppose!
kimimithegameeatingshemonster.com
I haven't played that in forever! ... I can't remember much now, tbh :S

Not every piece has to be a review. Not every article has to treat you like you're a prospective ~consumer~ of ~content~. Gaming - and our experiences of them - can be more than that.

Imagine if a gaming article could express empathy with previous owners. Explain the physical difficulties involved in using a niche item. Pass on fresh personal experiences. Do more than simply tell you how many levels a game has. Offer something other than wiki-style information.
A cropped reply that says "Wow what a waste of time reading this. I know exactly as much about the game now as I did before reading it lmao."
