Maya is a very big but very sweet lady, weighing in at about 200 pounds. She was very calm on our walk, which is lucky for me because I bet if she decided to run, I don't think I could hold her back. When we stopped at the door inside, she leaned up against me and I could really feel that weight.

And 2 weeks ago, we decided to try fostering again! Say hi to Coco, a 4-year old sweetie pie who just loves to get comfy. They've put up a lot of our pictures of her so that everyone can see she has something of a silly side.

Huge update! Oreo's trial adoption didn't work out, so we're fostering him now! Took him home this afternoon and getting him settled in. The training starts tomorrow!

Little bit of a shelter update! Today, we fed the dogs Thanksgiving plates generously made by a few of the volunteers. It was very heartwarming to see them all get a nosh. Afterward, I was allowed to take a dog home for the night! And now he's sleeping almost in my lap.

Here's one more. This is Fancy Pants and he loves to play Frisbee. All these dogs are available to be adopted!

Weekly shelter update! I don't feel like highlighting just one dog this week, so here are pics of a handful of dogs! Some of them were taken outside in the dark because the sun sets at 4:30 these days, and I did an evening shift.

Weekly shelter update! Not much to say about all the good doggos, though one of them has the strength to nearly pull my arm out of my socket! Here's a pic of me and Memoo, who loves to give kisses. She's already on hold to be adopted!

Double shelter update! Did two shifts this weekend because I might be a little busy next weekend. A couple of the bigger dogs yanked me around, but otherwise it was smooth sailing. Let's talk Turkey! 🦃

Weekly shelter update! I worked two evening shifts yesterday and today during an adoption event. Lots of pups went home to good (I hope) families! Including a few who I kinda fell in love with. Oh well! But as of tonight, Ruby here is still available!

Weekly shelter update! This was my first time walking the "red" dogs on my own... And I do mean on my own as I was the only red volunteer. Luckily, there were others even more experienced to help get all the dogs walked. Let's meet Leo!

Almost forgot to do a weekly shelter update! There's been a bunch of adoptions lately, yay! Good for the dogs and I get to spend more time with any remaining dogs. Case in point: Rocky!

Weekly shelter update! While I'm working my way up to work with the spicier dogs, I'm keeping busy with the regular sweeties. And I kind of had my heart stolen a couple of times with some older pups. Let's meet Gus!

Jack is one year old, and he is full of energy! A couple times he would just jump in the air when we were walking. And he leapt up on a picnic table for no good reason. Jack also liked chasing this big chew toy around the yard, sometimes crashing into the walls.

Late-night shelter update! This week, I did a Sunday morning shift, and all the huskies definitely appreciated the cooler weather I'm sure. Especially Jack!

Weekly shelter update! Yesterday was a little muggy, but also it rained a little? Lots of volunteers at my level, so the dogs got walked fast! (I have to up my "clearance" so I can walk some of the spicier dogs. But you know who wasn't spicy? Tortellini!

This week's shelter update: Another hot morning, but lots of volunteers to walk the dogs quickly. And so there was some time to refresh the water pails. But you didn't come here to hear about that, you came to meet a dog! Here's Ziggy!

Shelter update! It was a chilly morning, but some brisk walks helped warm things up. Today's dog is Lily, a 7-year-old boxer with the cutest waggly little tail.

Addendum: I also met a one-year-old dachshund named Lady who didn't feel like going for a walk (probably because of recent surgery). So we just sat together and ate cheese. She laid her head on my leg and my heart nearly burst.

Quick shelter update! After last week's event, lots of good pups were adopted, so I wasn't trained to walk many of the dogs that were left. But that doesn't mean there isn't anyone to talk about! Time to meet Wiggles!
