What is there to say? It might be the best side scrolling Mario ever (though Super Mario World might have something to say about that). Good difficulty, graphics were a big leap from previous versions, lots of secrets, tons of variety.

In short, a classic.

Just finished Super Mario Bros. 2. The last few stages were harder than I remember, but overall it was an enjoyable gameplay experience that holds up well. The sprites look great, the animations are good, and the stages have lots of variety.

There's few games that provide a more satisfying experience than Super Mario Bros. (1985) Long enough to be fulfilling and short enough to not overstay its welcome, SMB1 is one of the finest examples of good level design and has one of the most memorable soundtracks in video games.

Anybody out in Bluesky land ever play Betrayal at Krondor? I played it back in the 90s. Seemed like a pretty good game back then (I'm sure it hasn't aged well). Of course, I also played King's Quest V.
