look into his work more. start hearing his genuine talent — berlin era albums (Low, "Heroes", Lodger) employ SYNTHS so beautifully. they're just amazing. listen to Hunky Dory for a more folkish tune. Man Who Sold The World for more guitar-focused queer songs. i can't even describe Scary Monsters.

i mean have you even LISTENED to Hunky Dory? have you even LISTENED to Low or "Heroes"? have you even LISTENED to Scary Monsters (and Super Creeps)? fucking Man Who Sold The World? Young Americans, Station to Station, there are SO MANY albums of his i can name — and that's just the 70s!

i sorta get why the Sane-Stardust mix-up, Sane's lightning bolt's really distinctive& so is ziggy's whole thing. Jack, i suppose, has red hair of the suitable length, so classified-as-ziggy he goes.

so what i'm saying is:
a) ziggy stardust is not who you think, or was not meant to be who you think
b) the ziggy era caused the problems which led directly into david's coke problems & thin white duke era. ofc he wasn't doing too well *before* that either, but it really got worse. fate of his own

i don't think it was intended as the symbol it's now become (which, btw, is OK, because you can have different interpretations of art from the artist and still have them be valid. art belongs to the receiver.) but whatever happened to *david* after... has followed the same pattern
