We take in over 6,000 lost and surrendered pets every year. Our nonprofit also provides various resources to pet guardians in the community of Topeka and Shawnee County Kansas!
It’s been 6 months, “barn” cat Tom is an 80/20 cat (80% inside 20% outside). We have 3 dogs, & they’re all besties. I started classes & they love cuddling in bed together while I work. It’s like Thomas was made for our family. I’m forever grateful for y’all bringing him into our lives. ❤️

We love a happy barn cat update! “I adopted barn cat Tom on Monday and I wanted to share an update. He was very spicy when I picked him up with both me and Rachel. He’s adapted so well and it’s only been 3 full days. I thought Rachel and everyone else there would like to know how happy he is!!”

Stallion came to HHHS with a bit of a...situation.
He's sensitive about his issue, but basically...something lasted longer than 4 hours, and we had to call in our vet team for emergency surgery!
Come meet this big guy — he’s got a huge heart (and, um, everything else in the right place now 😜)!

An animal’s first picture taken at the shelter isn’t usually beautiful. The goal is to snap a quick pic so their guardians can recognize them if they’re lost. We aren’t trying to cause too much stress on the animal. But sometimes 🤳🏼🤌

We’re a little worried for the integrity of this shelf in Cat Colony 1 since Prince and Elsa have been gracing it with their abundance. These two are a brother/sister pair, almost 8 years old, and looking for a home together!

Jazzy’s person drove 4.5 hours to adopt her from our shelter. 💖 Jazzy is now living a very loved life and has become an astute critic of film!

Chris Farley came to us stressed and visibly unhappy. This isn’t unusual for a house cat who has rarely been away from home and familiarity. He displayed understandable defensive aggression. We moved him into our Admission Manager’s office, and he quickly decompressed and came out of his shell!
