I like to think that part of it is perhaps a false sense of value put into their work that a lot of designers and artists have (and creatives affected by AI in general). It never has been tangible, and in a world driven by hard data, intangible things must be driven by something; so they make it up.

To see the craft you fell in love with min-maxed to a machine that spits out flavourless replicas and for people to be OK with it is quite frustrating both on the level of an artist and a designer. That said - it was already happening way before AI; but the abundance is really diminishing the field.
