That is unlikely. As bad as in my view Hertforshire county is managing this for St Albans, they do allocate maintenance on the basis of traffic and perceived importance. And so in all likelihood maintenance would actually increase.

Exactly. That's the point. The council is here the problem. Not the population density.

I live myself in St Albans, and am very aware of the potholes you are referring to. However, that argument is not as strong as you think it is. More inhabitants, more concentrated building, means more income for road maintenance per kilometre. UK-wide statistics confirm this.

And talk less about them (on social media). Let's not forget where reality is.
