The fight going on in the Democratic Party right now is not between hard left, left and moderate. It’s between those who want to fight and those who want to cave. And Team Fight stretches across all ideological aspects of the Party. Misread this at your own peril.

Absent the structure of federalism, this would be an unambiguous act of aggression. And POTUS eliminated any ambiguity last week at Quantico, when he looked all his generals in the face and said, “this is a war.” He’s told us what these moves mean: he’s levying war on the United States. It’s treason

That's not just a breakdown of airy political philosophy about the nature of state sovereignty, it's torching the unity of the armed forces. Chain of command being ripped apart not from below but from above. It's saying your unit is from the wrong state so we don't trust you, you're not one of us.

It's Treason.

That's why we wrote this article: citizensimpeachment.com/article-of-i...

"Donald J. Trump and Peter Hegseth have committed an overt act of Treason by levying war against the United States in full view of the public. They have sought to jeopardize the union of these United States by setting the States against one another in pursuit of absolute, unchecked, despotic power."

It's long, long past time to remove these folks from office. Join us on Thursday to send this article to your Rep and demand the impeachment of Donald J. Trump and Peter B. Hegseth

The article closes with this:

"Among the grievances against King George III in the Declaration of Independence is the following charge: “He has affected to render the Military independent of and superior to the Civil Power.” The same can now be said of Donald J. Trump and Peter B. Hegseth."

It cannot be made plainer than this. In word and deed, the President and the Secretary of Defense are actively, intentionally, levying war against the American people, American cities and their political opposition.
highcountryrose.bsky.social
More than simply executing a war against the United States, they are reveling in it.

Here, Trump is delighting in his willful, deliberate pursuit of war against the United States.

Treason.

2/ Part of the lawsuit includes this recent threat against Chicago by Trump:
On September 6, 2025, President Trump escalated his rhetoric, describing his
planned operations in Chicago as a “war,” this time emphasizing immigration enforcement,
instead of crime. President Trump shared the image below on social media, depicting the
Chicago skyline ablaze, swarming with military helicopters, with the title “Chipocalypse Now,”
and the statement “I love the smell of deportations in the morning. Chicago about to find out why
it’s called the Department of WAR”

And even when the courts step in to prevent these gross overreaches of executive authority and blatantly unconstitutional actions, Trump and Hegseth KEEP GOING.

They are relentlessly pursuing their goal of levying war against the United States. bsky.app/profile/forb...

Trump and Hegseth have pitted the states against one another, commandeering National Guard from one state and forcibly deploying them where they are not wanted.

This violates state sovereignty and threatens the system of federalism established by the Constitution.
Treasonous actions
The clear and unambiguous interpretation of these words – that the President of the United States and his Secretary of Defense intend to wage war against American cities, American citizens, and their political opposition – is borne out by the administration’s actions. Donald J. Trump and Peter B. Hegseth have illegally [5] federalized and deployed the National Guard over the objections of the Governors of California, Oregon and Illinois, who have not requested any federal or military assistance, [6,7] usurping the power and responsibility to maintain order and exercising police power as vested in the State by the Constitution of the United States. Further, by forcibly deploying the National Guard from one state (Texas and California) to another state (Illinois and Oregon) over the objections of the officials tasked with maintaining law and order by the Constitution, [8] Donald J. Trump and Peter B. Hegseth have pitted State against State, violated State sovereignty, and threatened the system of federalism established by the Constitution of the United States.
highcountryrose.bsky.social
Both Trump and Hegseth declared their treasonous intent to the military officials they intend to have execute this war against the United States. On camera.
On September 30, 2025, Donald J. Trump and Peter B. Hegseth addressed the entirety of US military leadership to explicitly declare their intent to execute a “war from within” the United States. They made this declaration of war to the military leadership they expect to execute the war. Peter B. Hegseth further requested that military leaders with the integrity to resist unlawful orders resign, saying “if the words I’m speaking today are making your heart sink, then you should do the honorable thing and resign.“ [1] In remarks subsequent to Peter B. Hegseth’s speech, Donald J. Trump, in his official capacity as President of the United States, explicitly tied this war from within to American cities run by the opposition party, saying “You know, the Democrats run most of the cities that are in bad shape… what they’ve done to San Francisco, Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, they’re very unsafe places and we’re going to straighten them out one by one. And this is going to be a major part for some of the people in this room. That’s a war too. It’s a war from within.”[2]
highcountryrose.bsky.social
The Constitution *does* require at least two witnesses of an overt act to find someone guilty of Treason.

Declaring your intent to execute a "war from within" on national television and forcibly deploying National Guard units in full view of the press meets that requirement.

First off - there is no ambiguity here. Article II, Section 4 Constitution lists Treason as a reason to impeach, and Article III Section 3, Clause 1 defines Treason as levying war against the United States.

In word and deed, Trump is committing treason against the United States.
The Constitution provides that the House of Representatives “shall have the sole Power of Impeachment” and that the President and all civil Officers of the United States, “shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.” Further, the Constitution declares that “Treason against the United States shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort” In their respective conduct, Donald J. Trump, President of the United States, and Peter B. Hegseth, Secretary of Defense have, while performing the duties of their office —and in violation of their constitutional oath to faithfully to execute the duties of their office and, to the best of their ability, to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States — engaged in Treason by levying war against the United States in that:

This is the SECOND article that we've had to write to capture the extent of the crimes committed against the United States by President Trump. It is also the first article of impeachment to also name a civil officer - Secretary of Defense Pete Hesgeth.
RESOLVED, that Donald J. Trump, President of the United States, and Peter B. Hegseth, Secretary of Defense are impeached for Treason, and that the following article of impeachment be exhibited to the Senate:
Article of impeachment exhibited by the House of Representatives of the United States of America in the name of itself and of the people of the United States of America, against Donald J. Trump, President of the United States, and Peter B. Hegseth, Secretary of Defense, in maintenance and support of its impeachment against them for Treason:

What a miserable framing @npr.org What's actually happening is that the President is waging war on the United States - the definition of Treason.
