In corporate you’ll sometimes that if you’d leave devs to themselves nothing would ever be finished and that’s why you *need* scrum masters/product owners/management, and I’m just like brother what do you mean? Leave the nerds alone they build shit the world runs on like Linux and make it for free!

Seeing D66 adopting these BBB deserters its obvious they never played Mount & Blade: you don’t want these disloyal lords who defect all the time in your faction, sure they’re easy to recruit and it’s nice to have ~300 extra troops early but they will eventually start quarreling and demanding fiefs

Really lacking nuance and clear terminology in the discussion around GenAI in Gaming. What’re we talking about? Generating assets, a dev letting copilot generating docstrings, GenAI as part of the game mechanics? Is it all equally bad? Why/why not? Which algorithms are allowed?

It’s often the same (male) influencers who claim to practice stoicism that are also practicing clear examples Schopenhauerisch renunciations of the will (intense exercise, fasting, chastity, etc.), which are strictly in opposition to stoicism. Why is that? What’s the underlying view here?

One of the things I love about becoming better at trumpet and playing jazz is that there are no shortcuts. Using AI or whatever just doesn’t make any sense, it’s not gonna improvise for you. That shit has to be drilled in your own brain.

Throwback that one class where students were encouraged to fill out an anonymous class evaluation by the prof, and in the last class he opened by dissing all the points of improvement people wrote down
