"Maybe Happy Ending"

Getting a show to Broadway is such a monumental task and gamble, it's so nice to see this small but amazing show land here from its origin in South Korea. Great performances, incredibly creative staging, and such a great story.

Bob's Burgers

How incredibly rare for a show to get exponentially better as the seasons reach the teens. A remarkable feat as this family takes you through all your emotions, but still brings the funny like no one else.

"Death and Other Details"

Also released early in the year, this was overlooked by many. With a nod in tone to "Knives Out", it was an extremely well written, stylized mystery with a remarkable ensemble cast led by Mandy Patinkin. Loved every minute of this.

"Flow"

Just a gorgeous film that too many people are sleeping on. The animation and soundtrack work together so well to tell a moving story of adventure, and where we all fit into our world. Just incredible.

This was released at the very start of the year but remains at the top of my list. Great performances, incredibly well written with humor, tears, and hope.

As a teacher of current events and the drama adviser, this really fell into my Venn diagram at the right time. Amazing story of art and drama working to repair the damage the world can inflict.

Kristin Wiig - "Harper and Will Go West"

From the Netflix documentary "Will & Harper" this is a wonderful, deceptively simple, heartfelt, perfect song that I listened to over and over. Loved the film, but the song is just wow
