Civil Engineer with just lots of general interest. IndyCars, Sciency-stuff, other sports, and I just like listening to what people say.
Our cats' favorite toy to steal is the disposer rubber guard flange out of the sink drain... They pry it out, and then run off like the gingerbread man.

If you eat it at just the right temperature, it's pretty good, but if you eat it just brought to the table, it's gonna burn the heck out of your mouth. You get to about the 3rd piece and now it's getting cold. And if it's takeout it's just getting soggy right away. Overall disappointing experience.

We had about 8 inches of snow by about 11 AM, and it was switching to sleet. So I got that off the driveway and walks, and now we're up to about 2 inches of sleet. Planning on leaving that until the end of the storm in case of a sheet of ice.

I'm guessing not enough people yet to make it all crashy

He's certainly the only driver who's been able to keep up with them, for sure. I wonder if MSR would put him in for the final stint over Renger or Nick.

I suspect there's nothing outside of a meteor hitting the Penske Porsches that's going to stop them winning this race going away.

Thanks for the way better replay than we got from NBC!

Ugh, and keep Indycar out of AI slop garbage please.

It was pretty fine, until Golan put on the clownshoes after his crash.

Great job by Ammour, you could definitely tell that he won it with driving.

It even feels scammier because it's not just Bitcoin, it's "Bitcoin backed securities" from a guy who is known to not pay his bills.

Yeah, it's disappointing, but a bad stream feels worse than no stream.
January 18, 2026 at 3:36 PM
or is it just that this track is particularly difficult, as Rohn abruptly crashes as I hit "post"?
January 18, 2026 at 3:28 PM
Is Kris Horn really inexperienced at this track, or is it harder to not go full speed or something, like trying to drive IndyCars slow where they don't make downforce? Seemed like it was still a pretty messy run even for "just trying to get down the run."

You'd think a self-sponsored manufacturer could come up with a nice unified look, not like something they stole from the Star Trek Original Series. Does the other car have the black and white on the opposite sides?

That Baumgartner run really seemed to highlight what you said to me a few minutes ago: It really looked like he was steering a lot and that made it slow.
January 4, 2026 at 2:31 PM
I'm amazed how Lochner is faster than Ammour, even though that run that looked skiddy and wild and Ammour's looked super clean. Just so good.

Part of fun would be watching someone try to hold that behemoth up for you.
January 2, 2026 at 1:57 PM
So pretty much similar to RLL?
January 2, 2026 at 1:43 PM
It is really kind of surprising to me that you can actually tell the fast speeds compared to the normal-ish speeds during the run. They just look faster even if it's just a couple percent faster.

Similar story here, UGREEN has moved into the "look at their stuff first to see if they make what I'm looking for" spot for me.

lol, that made me think of this: bsky.app/profile/c0nc...
Not all owls say "who".

The saw-whet owl may have gotten its name from the resemblance of its call to a saw being sharpened on a whet-stone.

Seems like a better name than "3rd-grade-recorder-practice owl."
