“In explaining on Wednesday why he picked Sheahan, Landry first cited her role in captaining the women’s rowing team…”

2nd job she got because she knows Noem, not qualifications. We need DEI as a vehicle to challenge this kind of stuff.

Worshiped at @newbirthchurch.bsky.social today and saw something I love. Pastor Bryant prayed for those looking for work, in light of skyrocketing unemployment, and then had people in management come to the stage and say what they were hiring for- a pop-up job fair! Amen!

From late 2015 through 2017 there were LOTS of racist incidents, including Charlottesville, and not one Congressional hearing.

Finally finished Dr. Joseph Jones’ book. Would love to hear his thoughts about these ideas in light of the challenges the new administration presents. A good read and discussion for the HBCU community.

Good morning. Thanks to Jeff Benjamin for letting me know about this screening! The greatest college president ever. Looking forward to this.

In his opening, Rep. Grothman said DEI is an explicit choice to “put ideology over excellence.” Well, Florida is the new DEI capital when you look at the qualifications of the presidents the past couple of years.

Came home to see my former Albany State student @redclayscholar.bsky.social as part of a panel based on her book. She, 2 other panelists, and a doctoral student in the audience all lectured for my hip hop class at Dillard.

This is why we need DEI. Simply saying merit means someone who graduated from law school 3 years ago and has practiced less than 2 years can be called a “Constitutional scholar.” But compared to Biden’s pick and Trump 45’s pick, this is a joke.
