Our kid grabbed the needle while it was in her leg and yanked it, leaving a nice big gash where it dragged through the muscle. Traumatic for patient AND nurse. But weirdly cured her fear of needles. She figured out it's fine as long as you let the professionals do it.

Yeah, telling their (mostly female) staff they need to smile more was not the PR turnaround they hoped for, for some reason.
