It always felt like a pie in the sky hire. As weird as it sounds we cant really compete financially with SMU

Pittman had a wonderful habit of losing close games - pretty sure we lead the league in that metric - and our defense has been paper more times than not under Pittman. Semi-Consistent 6-6 seasons was never going to be enough

There we go! It only took 12 hours and you being weirdly condescending before you posted something to support your claim.

Note the second kicker named Little that also played for Arkansas!

If we look at the results of the most recent Moab 240 - the average pace per male was ~25:40, whereas women were at ~26:00 - close but no cigar.

See you keep doing this. You're making these blind assumptions because I'm skeptical of your point, while you've yet to provide anything concrete. Its disingenuous
August 9, 2025 at 9:16 PM
My guy. This is the point I'm contesting right here.
Because it's factually incorrect.
And you haven't provided anything to back up any of your claims really, besides, "trust me bro"

And again, if your point were true, we would see more disparity in records. We're talking about people pushing to their absolute limits.

The current 24hr record is difference of 41km.
The current 48 is 38km - closer
6 days - 77km

At no point does the article concede women are faster over any distance. I'm really curious what you're looking at here for those two responses. Is it this?
In both studied races, female participation was above 50%, but at best concedes there's just not enough to make any claims on

And this is in no way me attempting to lessen the results, work, and sacrifice of ANYONE that competes in ultras. I've got an incredible respect for the sport and everyone involved, but facts are important. Go look at the current 24 hour+ records. They're mostly recent.
August 9, 2025 at 7:43 PM
Did you actually read this article you're sourcing here? It mostly argues against your point, including the below screenshot of text. And yes, as the article points out, the gap does shrink as distances increase, but there doesn't appear to be a crossover point.
August 9, 2025 at 6:58 PM
I'm approaching this in good faith - If your theory is correct, we should see a good disparity in results right? But we don't. Check the results of most major ultras over the years - men by and large make up the top 5 in these races. Relevant records are all held by men as well

I fully expect him not to be our coach going into next year, barring a miraculous season. Either he retires after another middling season, or it goes upside down again ala 2023 and he's fired

As soon as they threw that up, I knew it wasn't happening
