No doubt Whitmer will be on shortlists but she is in a uniquely weak position in that everyone in the country can be reminded that she let Trump dog walk her by a single photo

Amazing timing given that we just watched Amazon / Ring run a Super Bowl ad around a surveillance feature only to be forced to backtrack on the contracts that monetized it in under a week from organic consumer backlash, no NGOs even needed to be involved.

Here in MO-01 the vibe certainly suggests Cori Bush is well positioned to retake the seat. Had Wesley Bell taken AIPAC money and then told them to fuck off, he would probably be safe.
February 11, 2026 at 10:04 PM
Obviously this is all vibes, if Chris had an epistemically valid justification for this opinion he would have shared it. People who believe AI can replace all jobs are people that fear AI will replace their job. Projection comes for us all.

I care but, now that I know where you stand, I will try to not lose any sleep when they come for your people

According to 23andMe I am literally the dumbest inbred Anglo dipshit possible, so I can say this.

Look dude I know it sucks that the English can’t credibly make fun of any other human culture but as Americans we can only credibly make fun of the English and you have to let us have it.

It’s tempting to think that nobody in a near constant state of psychotic break could keep a life like that together but we all have been watching Musk do it for a while now…
February 4, 2026 at 5:58 PM
Yes! We have no idea how cooked Bezos’ brain is exactly because he does not post 1000 times a day on main. Occam’s Razor suggests that the ones staying private are thinking and behaving like the one who likes to be public.
February 4, 2026 at 5:57 PM
It’s possible if not likely that he only communicates with sycophants and he is as misinformed as Elon Musk and is simply declining to post all day every day to demonstrate that.

Even “hamburger that costs $30 because they called the ketchup ‘tomato chutney’” almost certainly outsells the tuna melt.
February 3, 2026 at 5:01 PM
I am willing to bet that more of the eponymous sandwiches from Num Pang and far more Italian style hoagie sandwiches are sold in NYC than tuna melt so it’s not even the most popular sandwich in NYC among sandwiches not associated directly with NYC.

The words change but woo — particularly vaccine skepticism, raw dairy, paleo/ancestral/weston a price diets — have been reliable left to right pipelines for longer than any of us have been alive. Once you get into the high-coercion version of this you are a chud and it’s always been this way.

My recollextion is that this was a thing from the 90s through the 00s and it was for me, like surprise birthday parties or strippers at bridal showers hosted in a private home during the afternoon, something that was ubiquitous in popular media but not very present in my real world experience

If will stancil is getting kicked out of signal chats that were full of armchair socialists than he was kinda the dumbass the whole time, no? Put less glibly, if the people removing Stancil’s access aren’t serious organizers, why does he want the access to their chats?

lol at favoring multi-racial immigration as a stereotype for Scandinavians

Too bad you don’t hold a position with formal authority and you can’t do more than ask

I am not a Democrat and so I suppose I don’t have much say in their primary but one would think that, as a practical matter, the transphobic DNC might wonder if they have enough card carrying transphobic Democrats to carry the general elections or if they are dependent on “the groups”.
January 16, 2026 at 5:19 PM
He was for sure one of the big accounts that was engaging in rampant transphobia that one time Bouie got annoyed with trans woman and gave himself a little self imposed time out for a couple weeks. This is him, he relishes an opportunity to participate in transphobia when he thinks it’s safe.

Whenever Rupar pulls a Rupar I remind myself that the only two jobs in the world that LLMs could actually do are “middle manager” and “Aaron Rupar” and move on.
January 16, 2026 at 5:06 PM
The original topic of discussion was about Trump cancelling or invalidating the entire election. Whether or not the outcome could be influenced by extralegal intimidation in certain geographies is a different question and when that happens in 2026 it won’t be happening for the first time, obvs.
January 15, 2026 at 8:26 PM
Why would I plan for scenarios that exist entirely in your head? That seems like a job that you are uniquely well positioned for.
January 15, 2026 at 5:37 PM
I think you should challenge yourself to learn to differentiate between a norm as a barrier to action (in which case, the actors care for the norm is highly salient) and a material condition as a barrier as material conditions do not need the actor to care about them to exist and act as a barrier.

I used to be fascinated with these. We never got anything, because you didn’t earn coupons when you paid with food stamps. My grandparents had a huge dictionary I was fond of that they got this way like 20 pages at a time.
