My recollextion is that this was a thing from the 90s through the 00s and it was for me, like surprise birthday parties or strippers at bridal showers hosted in a private home during the afternoon, something that was ubiquitous in popular media but not very present in my real world experience

The original topic of discussion was about Trump cancelling or invalidating the entire election. Whether or not the outcome could be influenced by extralegal intimidation in certain geographies is a different question and when that happens in 2026 it won’t be happening for the first time, obvs.

I think you should challenge yourself to learn to differentiate between a norm as a barrier to action (in which case, the actors care for the norm is highly salient) and a material condition as a barrier as material conditions do not need the actor to care about them to exist and act as a barrier.
