Here's the original! Judging by the way the everything looks, this was originally done sometime in the middle of seventh grade (2008-2009).

Redraw of a very old piece I'd been wanting to do for quite some time. I've actually been sitting on this one for quite a while, I just keep forgetting to post it. No better way to enter the new year, eh?

Here are their general human refs! I use these mostly for colors, but this is also the general designs I use for them. They're about late 20's/early 30's-ish here, and in the older designs they're more late 40's-ish. :)

Wanted to figure out older-age designs for DK and Candy for a bit, and I've realized the best way for me to not make the same choices over and over again with Kongs is to draw the character as a human and then figure out how to translate that later on.

So, uh, human DK and Candy but they're older!

While the above has current examples of my artwork, here's some from a fan project I've been working on for a while. It's a Pokemon trainer AU for the Donkey Kong series. It takes place in Unova far into the Pokemon timeline and uses both the visual and written mediums to tell its story.
