Wallpaper Of The Week: Catalina PBY-5a -- G-PBYA was ordered for the RCAF as a Canso A amphibian, equivalent to the USN PBY-5A. It first saw service with the 9 Sqn at Bella Bella on the British Columbia coast.

Sopwith Snipe about to take off at Hood Aerodrome, (NZ). The Snipe was a late WW1 fighter that only saw limited action before the end of the war in 1918. THis aircraft is in post-war Royal Air Force colours.

The Hanriot HD.1 was a French-built WW1 fighter that the French didn't want to use! Most of these excellent fighters were used by the Belgians and Italians (who built them under licence).
This aircraft (operated by The Vintage Aviator in NZ) is an original WW1 survivor.
