I’m not a young man any more, in fact, at 42, I was born closer to the end of World War 2 than today. My parents are both baby boomers. Their parents fought the war. When I was born less than 38 years had passed since Japan surrendered and ended the war. I heard the stories. The good and funny, like fishing with grenades or flights with a crazy pilot in a plywood plane over nazi lines and eventually I heard the bad stories too.

I think the United States of America fell this weekend. The present has abdicated most of his power to a billionaire oligarch who now has his personal employees commandeering government agencies and money. Congress is too cowardly to do anything about it. The America formed in 1787 is gone.

There's no such thing as a Rlman salute. No historical records exist showing one. The Belamy salute invented in 1892 to go along with the pledge of allegiance seems to be it's origin. We don't need to get into how anti immigrants the pledge was. Fascists borrowed the salute in the 1920s. Now no one
