Historian of Bar'leth is an account dedicated to discussing Star Wars content through the lens of real-world history and culture, with additional discussion of new books, comics and more thrown in!
-well realized obviously, while the newcomers are each an interesting puzzle of traits and thoughts we occasionally get an insight into. A solid addition to the Star Wars galaxy! 3/3

Well that is depressing. What on EARTH happened?? Such a silent death of the series, 0 communication from Marvel, total unwillingness to address the situation clearly due to 0 discussion at NYCC about this, at least PROVIDE A CUSHION. But, nope, so now we're left to swirl in confusion.

Hate to be that guy, but, what is your source? Atm the TPB still suggests at least a 6th issue if I’m recalling its updated numeration from a few months ago correctly? Unless I’m completely misremembering.

I think that Jedi Knights was always meant to be 10, like with Legacy of Vader at 12. LoV’s structure has been consistent, while Guggenheim has been open that the story he wrote was 10 issues. Aphra and SW (2025) are the weird ones though, SW from Segura is almost certainly ending prematurely.

Corey created five Star Wars book covers across two Phases of The High Republic. While I have no idea what they were paid, or if Lucasfilm itself was directly involved, I would assume the overall experience was positive, explaining five covers over three years.

The fifth book cover.

They did. Corey created five book covers for Star Wars, all in The High Republic. They are amazing works, and so even if Lucasfilm itself did not directly commission their creation, it is little wonder Corey's art has appeared at the company in light of their existing contributions.

-neither of them had much of that during Sequel Trilogy tie-in material. This book was never going to set up the post-E9 galaxy, that was and is Starfighter's job. While I am not a psychic, The Last Order still fits very well with what I imagined the novel would be. 3/3

Yeah, he faded into nothing, and there’s been a bit of a thing ever since about a) his redemption and if he deserves to join the CF that fast and b) some rumblings that he then didn’t appear as a Force Ghost at the film’s very end. Lego tapped into this by one of their specials having Ghost Ben.

Ben faded into the Cosmic Force and lost a physical body. This was not like Palpatine or even Momin who had complex plans for resurrection in place, this was a sacrifice in the name of the galaxy, and to save Rey. I find it crazy Lucasfilm was down to upend the finale of a film they just finished.

While I have not read the issues currently out, just because the comic's solicit says a character's name, doesn't mean the characters in the story know who that is. Han might not ever end up seeing Plutt, or if he does cross paths, it may be JUST the wrong time, and the Falcon is hidden away.

I personally think we'll have to wait and see, any outline of rough information regarding something like, say, Shadow of the Sith, would have generated the same questions/doubts, right? In that case, they had a lot more to help explain/fill in, but this is ultimately a similar product.

Howso? The series is showing Han trying to rebuild a broken family by getting back something from happier times, the Falcon. But really, it’s him not accepting recent events properly and the series will likely end on him letting up on the gas but continuing the hunt more gradually.

-the full structure of an eldritch horror story. It is there in parts, but, we’ll see if and how they ever go that route.

But by the nature of distilling the story down into a heavy focus on one genre, they have to make it more likely to be part of a horror genre staple first over any other. You’re right, THR has plenty of eldritch horror, but that’s rarely for the full length of the story. It doesn’t have the-

Lots of ways to bring horror into SW, it’s been happening for years now, so I’m ultimately curious what direction they might take if they do end up doing a heavy horror-focused story. Maybe a focus on slasher horror? There’s not been too much of that in SW to date.

The comic is set 20 years after Phase 2, so definitely after Rooper if this is a handoff of the shield. Maybe she’s the Master whose mysterious death triggers this investigation. It might also be that it’s Silandra who dies, and Rooper makes a guest appearance before leaving the story.

I believe he also has said it a few times since then, the end of the THR finale roundtable interview had him mention that I think
