That's the thing, he asks the follow up questions that cable and broadcast news interviewers never do. Why don't they ask them anymore? Because they value access and have been taught it's rude to embarrass a public official by holding up a mirror showing them their answers suck.

During debates in Congress on the proposed amendment, questions were raised about the scope and meaning of its citizenship language. Sen. Benjamin Wade (an Ohio Republican) straightforwardly maintained that all persons born in the United States should be deemed citizens at the time of their birth.
Mr. Wade: In the first section of the proposition of the committee, the word "citizen" is used. That is a term about which there has been a good deal of uncertainty in our government. The courts have stumbled on the subject, and even here, at this session, that question has been up and it is still regarded by some as doubtful.... I have always believed that every person, of whatever race or color, who was born within the United States was a citizen of the United States; but by the decisions of the courts there has been a doubt thrown over that subject...
The senator from Maine suggests to me, in an undertone, that persons may be born in the United States and yet not be citizens of the United States. Most assuredly they would be citizens of the United States unless they went to another country and expatriated themselves, if they could do so by being adopted in that other country by some process of naturalization..
Mr. Fessenden: [William Fessenden, Republican from Maine]. Suppose a person is born here of parents from abroad temporarily in this country.
Mr. Wade: The senator says a person may be born here and not
be a citizen. I know that is so in one instance, in the case of the children of foreign ministers who reside "near" the United States, in the diplomatic language. By a fiction of law such persons are not supposed to be residing here, and under that fiction of law their children would not be citizens of the United States... Read the Speeches, look at the political cartoons, the intent of the clause is clear.
Anyone who knows the primary sources surrounding the 14th Amendment's debate and ratification knows that Birthright citizenship wasn't just about the former slaves, although overturning Dred Scott was part of it. It was about protecting those who came here from abroad and their children.

Prime example of the failure of our elite led media. Harvard merits a higher billing than the creation of overseas concentration camps. We're seeing the end of Due Process and the Rule of Law, but Harvard is more important for the media commentariat.

What Trump, Bukele, and Stephen Miller are doing at CECOT in El Salvador mirrors the early Nazi concentration camps. By moving people outside of where the judicial system can reach them, they can create fear in opponents. The death camps came later. encyclopedia.ushmm.org/content/en/a...

This is College Board's official response on the AP Teacher community. I'll let you read and evaluate if you think it's just a simple misunderstanding or over-reaction by teachers based upon heightened fears in the current environment or not.

The reason why this is concerning, the only topics that College Board appears to examine in its review of APUSH videos are ones teaching Black and Native history, topics likely to be challenged as teaching DEI or CRT or whatever conservatives are calling Truthful Hard American History this week

Update to this #APUSH post. College Board has put back up many, but not all of the videos that were taken down. The topics Failure of Reconstruction & Slavery in the British Colonies videos are still down with a "Note: This video is being updated to strengthen alignment to the AP course framework."

College Board deleted vids for multiple classes on AP Classroom about issues dealing with American Indians, Slavery, Racism, and sexism. For APUSH the first two videos on Slavery in the British Colonies were deleted, videos on Native American societies and Euro conquest, and Reconstruction. #edusky

Elon is acting as a co-president, a consul. Without Senate confirmation, he is acting outside the constitution.
