Book 6, An African History of Africa: From the Dawn of Civilization to Independence by Zeinab Badawi. This is an introduction to African history, but told from an African perspective rather than a European. Have spent DECADES looking for a book like this, and it delivers. A must read.

Book 5, The Golden Road: How Ancient India Transformed the World by @willdalrymple.bsky.social. Astounding book. Makes a solid case for India as the centre of ancient civilization, I had no idea the debt we owe in so many fields, particularly mathematics. A transforming read.

Book 4, The Far Edges of the Known World by @badancient.bsky.social. Ancient history, but by centering the narrative from the edges you get such a different perspective. Sections on the Black Sea were so interesting!
