Announcement kind of seems pointless without pricing info

For me, I think a part of it comes from living a considerable portion of my childhood in a pre-Internet era. So I think your scarcity idea is probably along the right path.

Also, early computing appealed to a group of people that heavily overlapped with heavy readers, at least in my experience.

"Pivotal" is a world that is WAY over used when discussing events from the SWW. Iwo Jima was far from pivotal. Probably closer to the "Are we sure we need to do this?" side of the spectrum.

And this is touched on at the end of the article, but everything about how LLMs interact with history shifted as soon as all of the major platforms gave their fancy chat boxes the ability to search the Internet. It caused a major jump in accuracy, assuming correct information was available online.

I hope to see more studies like this, with new methods of evaluating LLM performance. Unfortunately I think the MMLU dataset has some serious problems for more recent LLM releases due to leakage and just problems with the dataset in general.

Really liked how you presented the Transcript and OCR sections. The clearest showcase of the strengths (and weaknesses) of LLMs for those purposes. I wonder what the results would be with the latest set of tools for those purposes, I have had really good experiences with Parakeet and Deepseek OCR.

That is some Call of Duty ass gun attachment fetish happening. Which is probably pretty common among the group of people jumping into ICE. The Mall Tactical vibes are real strong in a lot of the photos showing their gear.

The B-36 was just absurdly large.
