As a woman, I've always wanted to split the bill. I won't date a man that wants to pay in full because then they feel entitled. Until I know you well enough, I find it creepy to insist on paying.

The same corporations that killed people fighting for basic labour protections, polluted the Great Lakes so bad they randomly caught fire, and created company towns to keep people permanently indebted. Neoliberalism has eroded public trust, spending power, and human rights.

I would say Keynsian style politics that built strong institutions and systems like public health care stabilised us. Neoliberalism is an attack on all of that. It has always aimed to gut regulations, erode state power, and hand the reigns to corporations.
