As a mother, of course I want my children to be happy but I know they won’t always be happy. So I’ve shifted from saying “I want them to be happy” to “I want them to have the capacity to feel all kinds of emotions without judgement.”

A love story 63 years in the making. Bill & Jean fell in love in their 20s. Bill wanted children and Jean wanted to travel. They separated and married other people. Bill had children. Jean traveled. Their spouses passed within a few years of each other. In 2023 I photographed their wedding.
