style story games, and only Nintendo can bring us back to that. And hopefully it has more charm and less tech demo features than a lot of modern games have. Maybe we are just in a slump but we’ll have 100 more Genshin impacts before we get a Chinese Zelda I’m sure

And VR is still underexplored, we are still yet to have the Nintendo of VR but when Nintendo do a headset and release some real VR games then we will see the second renaissance of gaming. Or we get a classic ocarina of time style Zelda? Instead of garden style chibi we’ll get a return to adventure

Games like call of dragons where all the seemingly real players are AI and you are always the hero, teetering on the edge of being able to win against the whales, this is the generated experience everyone will be having soon

We’re getting pushed closer and closer to constant edging and hero-like moments that it’ll stop being enough and the only experiences that will satisfy the masses and thus be published will be AI generated

I don’t know what the answer is other than that gaming is dying and china have arrived at the end of the road, Kirby Air Rider looks amazing but see how overstimulating that game has been made for it to look interesting these days

to pre-lobotomise yourself to ignore these ultimate outcomes so that you can enjoy the journey. But the journey of bouncing between world chests with scattered dialogue with insanely scattered brained mini quests in between just feels like stimming

Genshin-likes are being exhausted and where winds meet tries to save that with action RPG combat but ultimately the talent system means I’ll be looking for gems to pull the golden dragon attack which will be fun to use twice then get devalued when I spam it constantly, it’s like you need

The only other genuine path for a good f2p game is social power, beating certain bosses, discussing your story choices, which depend on there being an engaged community, but can you have an engaged community when a new big game comes out every week?
