When you're a Trumpeter Swan, there's never an itch you can't scratch.
Two white swans on ice - one standing in the upper left corner and one sitting in the lower right corner. Both have their necks twisted round to reach another part of their body, like they're trying to scratch an itch.

It was colder this morning than I realized so my visit to the park was quick. I saw some fluffed up chickadees and this sweet little male Downy Woodpecker.
A small woodpecker sits on a branch covered with orange lichen. The woodpecker has a white breast, black wings with white spots, black and white stripes on its face and a little red patch at the back of its head.

American Dippers are such amazing little birds. I love watching them dive under the water looking for food.
