Big day for me yesterday! I wore a cassock and surplice for the first time. Officiated at Sunday Morning Prayer for the second time. Still can't really believe I'm doing this! 📕

This morning the Old Testament reading was from Jonah. The preacher touched on whale/big fish translation. I remembered this poem from @jayhulmepoet.bsky.social and the prompting not to miss the point of the story, to see the miracles elsewhere.⚓

Continuing the theme of cake in New Orleans, today the weather is horrible so I am eating beignets and watching the Mississippi.

Visited a parish for Mass this morning in New Orleans. Went to the parish King Cake tasting afterwards and had three different flavours! Almond-satsuma was the best. Then lunch at a bakery so more cake! #Epiphany ⚓

Swag from this evening's parade in honour of St Joan of Arc's birthday! It's the official start of Mardi Gras here in New Orleans.

Joined my local public library recently. Love that the checkout receipt includes how much you saved by borrowing the books, not buying them!
