Imo, one suggests that a person removes themselves from a situation (your version); the other suggests that a person leaves a situation but the soul of who and what that person is lingers either as a presence or a legend or a memory and/or in that ....

I'd opt for the adjustable, especially if you want a different size or plan to use it for more than one project. That said, I'm opposed to ebay. Tough choices. (No good reason, I just find ebay icky.)
