I received great feedback on my Alaska project at BrANCH. I can't wait to get back to writing. Too much stuff has to do first. But, I have clarity.

London is calling! I am excited to be in community with US & UK scholars at Cardiff for BrANCH 2026. I'm excited to discuss the totality of 19th C US History and present for the first time on my Black Reconstruction in Alaska research. #amwriting

As I prepare for an Alaska research trip, I'm wrapping up some campus history research projects and drafting letters of support for T&P and promotions to full. This daily work might seem mundane; however in this current moment, it is so important. Summer break is drawing to a close. #amwriting

Chapter submitted. It was my first exploring my Davidson campus history research for an edited volume on campus histories. My chapter focused on two men whose campus ties began in slavery and end with their death in the Jim Crow era. Can't wait for the feedback. #amwriting

12 Black Civil War veterans lie at rest in a small glen in Mechanicsburg, PA. Vietnam veterans adopted the historic cemetery to ensure its upkeep. The Mechanicsburg community remembers the #USCT veterans every #MemorialDay. www.kcra.com/article/blac...

These soldiers deserve respect, and that’s exactly what the community gave them.

Since I'm traveling tomorrow, I post the image used for the cover of Unforgettable Sacrifice. Black communities always remembered the Civil War with parades and other Intergenerational traditions. “Negro G.A.R. veterans parading, New York City, May 30, 1912,” Library of Congress, LC-USZ62-132913.
