Just an old mobile game industry exec trying to figure out why I'm bothering with social media instead of walking away from everything, throwing my phone in the trash, and building an off-grid cabin in some forgotten corner of the Appalachian Mountains.
Kids these days need more RAT FINK.

It's frustrating how common this is! The Expanse, The Dark Tower, the Dune books, and so many others... It's like "awesome premise, world-class set up, disappointing payoff" could be its own genre.

Maybe GRRM is on to something by just not bothering to finish A Song of Ice and Fire?

Maybe it's just the rose colored internet nostalgia glasses but ... damn. The glory days of Twitter where everyone was there and people were just sharing cool shit made everything so easy compared to today.

Social media is so fragmented now that aiming takes at bsky also seems bad? It's harder than ever to get anything noticed. I’ve got tens of thousands of no strings attached free Apple Arcade codes I can’t even give away…Feels like unless you play the outrage game you just can't get traction anymore.

We struggled with this so much at TouchArcade. The content that gets CEO's to pay is deeply insightful industry analysis that most normal people just don't care about. They want to know what games are cool. Serving both audiences well is impossible, and subscription fatigue puts a clock on it all.

Oh saying “six seven” and slamming a truly bewildering amount of Zyns in their mouthes.

We were at a college football game last Saturday sitting next to two younger guys who spent the entire game just saying “six seven!” So bizarre.

My career day advice is worthless. It boils down to: be born at the right time, nearly drop out of high school, then fall ass-backwards into the .com boom because no one else knew how to do this weird niche stuff you happened to be hyper-focused on… and suddenly companies couldn’t get enough of it.

I’ll be in Vegas in a couple weeks for work and was curious about this but tickets are $150!!! I feel like my grandpa these days, always ranting about how everything is too expensive.
