Whenever I’m standing around with nothing better to do, like watching fireworks, I imagine talking to someone who lived here 200 or 300 years ago. That big skyscraper to the right? It’s part way between the South End and the Charles. Yeah, they filled in all the swamp there

This doesn’t happen often, but today I was preoccupied thinking about how I didn’t make it through grad school. Toledo was there to help 🙏🏻

One of my cats, when confronted with near-record heat, is like Ford Prefect when confronted with Vogon poetry. He hates it but is resigned to it.
The other is like Arthur Dent. He lolls around, then decides he actually kind of likes it

The cold weather finally prompted me to set up a bird feeder to help them get through to spring. I put it by my back window so I could watch them. My cats are also entertained

As someone working in synthetic biology, I appreciate that although Frieren the mage knows lots of spells for offensive and defensive magic, and who knows what else, her favorite spell is one that creates a field of flowers
