He cautioned that such individuals could exploit political divisions to undermine the people's power, seize control of the government, and later dismantle the very systems that enabled their rise to power.

Me either ... even when I hear someone use the phrase, I immediately assume then probably don't actually have any real knowledge of the topic. Especially myself, if I feel common sense, it triggers my own skepticism.

Overconfidence bias is related to the "Dunning-Kruger effect"; individuals with low expertise in a domain tend to overrate their competence.
Both biases can distort reasoning and decision-making by reinforcing reliance on flawed judgments.
