And to our left we have the ossuary outdoor gym built by Bert Bone Pumper from the bones of his fallen enemies. There's an old saying from the before times that applies here. It goes what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. I guess they had fucked up ppl like Bone Pumper in the before times too

Maybe a rules mid category is needed. For the games that aren't obviously light(honey heist) or obviously heavy(Rolemaster)

... feels like that hot mess my 8 year old hot glued together. It's just glue, chestnuts and white paint and when you lift it up its greasy and comes apart.

... it requires going in with the mindset of accepting that it can be horrendously unfair and being ready to laugh it off. I'm sure it can be fixed but unlike hero quest there are just so many things that needs fixing. Hero quest is well put together and feels like a whole and Drakborgen...

With all of this I still want to play it. But then we have Drakborgen which while interesting is just frustrating. There's nothing better than having your knight draw a random room tile and it comes up a pit and then it's like. Ok what happens now?...

Peak boardgame in 2025. The only bad thing is rolling for movement. But easily fixed. When no monsters are on the board, place you characters as you want. If you want to expose new areas on the board then back to taking turns but each character moves a set nbr of steps instead of rolling.

Yeh it probably works in most pbta games as long as there is the possibility of combat.
I like how they do it in cartel where it's a reverse roll. I.e. you have to roll low modified by heat and that means that getting away clean has a 50% chance instead of 25% as in US.

Yes it's preferable to have the listed consequences be better i fully agree.
I just mentioned it as a kind of PSA for those that think you have to do what it says in the move and you should... kinda, but fiction first of course. I haven't seen any pbta rules explicitly state this....

First, you are not wrong but at least what I do when resolving a move with set consequences and the consequences don't fit is I ignore them and make up a consequence that fits and also even if it fits but I can think of something cooler that fits better then I use that instead.
