I’m a Brit watching from afar, but I know there are too many good people in the US and all around the world to let this stand. There will be a reckoning for this, keep the faith.

I heard you interview him at Glasto, John - and I like him, he seems to have been a pretty good Manc mayor. But I do remember how lacklustre his leadership campaign was against Corbyn and co - so all this King Across the Water stuff is a bit overblown IMO. But I agree he should stand.

This makes me very sad. But so did my own government gifting Trump an entirely undeserved second state visit to the UK. What is this collective arse-kissing achieving?

I’d love to think that this will be the very last time that Mandelson disgraces himself publicly. But I also thought that the last time, and the time before that, etc etc.
