No one batted an eye when the ICU was taking 4 usually 1:1 patients at a time (paralyzed, sedated with high PEEP, pressors). Seems like we could do something less than that a few days at a time.

Was the 5 yo an offender? The other kids walking home from school? The pregnant ladies?
The likeliest offenders are the scum who signed up as ICE.

After a trip to Tokyo and then shoulder surgery a couple of years later, I am a huge proponent of bidet becoming an arm in the United States!!! The best. Will never not have one.

Vultures are amazing birds and extremely important to human health around the world! They can smell something dead from a mile away.
They kill nothing- only eat things that are already dead.
The pH in their stomach is so low that they take the microbes out of the environment entirely.

Lol- I literally should have a picture somewhere of my hand covered in bloody liver, but here’s a picture of the gorgeous bird itself!

Lol- for me, even more disgusting than liverwurst! But I do feed raw liver (rabbit usually) to a large Turkey Vulture in my volunteer work. She loves it!!!

OMG yes! Disgusting. I’ve had this argument with my husband just so many times who thinks it’s good. He also like gifilthe fish which I’m pretty sure cats would also love.

My grand-dog recently had to have several extremely expensive hospitalizations and now has to eat extremely expensive prescription food. But it may be the only grandchild I ever get, so I’m helping foot the bill.

Lol- my little retired RN heart chuckled at that.
He would definitely be “That patient”. We’d have to draw straws.

That's simply not true, no reasonable nurse/doctor would repeatedly use the same iv site. Plus if he's can getting regular infusions he'd have antecubital picc line or subclavian catheter or port. Could be myriad of reasons the the hand issue. He has very thin parchment like skin and slow to heal.

Honestly- 36 year RN here, mostly critical care. You would not/could not keep going back to the same spot like that. He’d have an implanted port or easily hidden central line by this point.
Skin cancer?
Other non-healing wound?

Healthcare workers love “pleasantly confused” patients. Why could we have not gotten one of them?

Do you by any chance live in Fort Collins?
