Yes, he would go in a booth with headphones on and dub her taps. Although Ginger would have liked to have done her own taps, she was almost always working on another movie at the time the dubbing was done, so Pan would do it.

The "Hard to Handle" routine from "Roberta" is my favorite that Ginger and Fred did. You can see how much fun they are having, and it is the only number they did where their real taps were captured because it was done on a real hardwood floor.

That sounds like an interesting read! I love listening to old radio programs like "Suspense." I think you will enjoy the Joan Crawford book—I certainly did.
