swooping is bad

Nerdy little soul. Usually to be found with nose stuck in book, occasionally emerges from lair to fangirl. Warning: opinionated. Aspires to be, as Mhairi McFarlane once put it, "a menace in polka dots."
I think a lot of folk are conditioned to see the dumper as The Bad Guy™️ unless some obvious provocation like cheating occurs. So you get them thinking they need proof of wrongdoing and no, you’re not a court, you don’t require guilt beyond reasonable doubt.’ You get to do whatever’s best for you

This is my take too. If you’re at the stage you feel desperately in need of a loyalty test, then the test result is already redundant

Maybe I’m just weird, but I can’t say I’d find “I would backstab my sibling and blow up my entire family in order to fuck you, their partner” a particularly flattering proposition. Mainly that would make me think you’re a selfish child, and if fool enough to accept I’d lose you the way I found you

I got Lucanis and then like I hadn’t already spent enough money got Rook too

I once had two separate deliveries on the same van (I knew because they send you the driver’s name and time slot), one was delivered and the other was marked as “couldn’t find property.” Apparently he got hopelessly lost on my front doorstep

Josie will have exquisitely catered the Main Hall so I can deal with a few stuffy nobles.

Apparently these folk have never considered the idea that children are more likely to voluntarily hug you when you’re not a person who forces them to hug you while they physically recoil

Let me guess, that group is full of a lot of estranged grandparents and missing missing reasons

Yes! See also ‘it is what it is’ (I know a lot of people loathe that one, but for me it’s just easier and more PG than saying “well it’s a clusterfuck but we can’t do shit about it so let’s not kill my mood wanging on about it shall we”)

We absolutely can and more to the point *should* control our emotions as adults. There is a limit - we can’t magic them away, or pick which one we have at which time - but we absolutely decide whether to regulate them or not and how to behave as a result of them. This asshole is his own problem

It is unbelievable how many idiots on LinkedIn post like this, having forgotten the purpose of that site and that it is not X or Facebook.

Of course he's a 'coach.' This type of social media asshole is frequently schilling some course on how to be the douchiest alpha bro you can be, or otherwise purporting to teach other men. When in reality, this is spectacularly poor professional judgment from an alleged executive coach

Male. Unusual for me but my playthroughs just did not click until I switched gender and there he was

Forgetting that for her it’s just a craving - what idiot expects a 19y old to be financially stable? That’s college age. Living on grilled cheese and ramen and whatever’s cheap is an entirely normal financial position for them to be in at that age. That’s part of why grown adults shouldn’t date kids

Hate, no. Intensely dislike yes lol

One of the most valuable classes I've had was as an adult - was about difficult negotiations, but based very heavily in typical conflict handling behaviours and what's functional vs not. Also did a little exercise to identify what our personal tendencies were. So helpful! Wish kid me had had it!
November 21, 2025 at 2:59 PM
How I wish that we'd had seminars on functional coping techniques for shit like dealing with conflict, failure, disappointment etc etc. Adult me still has to wrestle with kid me's avoidance instinct, I think because kid me lacked the tools that dial shit down from 'scary' to 'unpleasant but doable'

The pre-teen understood it was mean. He’s a grown man. Enough said.

The pink tax is their discount. Getting paid more than women for doing the same job is their discount. Which they get 365 days a year
