The strategy of aping Reform doesn’t even work on its own terms - it just bolsters the far-right while causing needless harm. And it won’t stop desperate people from making deadly journeys across the Channel either.

Tbh, I wouldn't like to be in their shoes. Is it possible to make zero errors in such large processes, when the press will jump on even the tiniest error to fabricate a narrative? This applies in healthcare with thousands of patients and elsewhere. The press will find something.

There is a difference, I grew up with a lot of internalised transphobia, as did most of my loved ones, and I wouldn't really believe someone who said they hadn't (at least of my generation or earlier). GC is a hate movement: it is very different, tends to be cruel & not within social norms
