I know Mario as a series isn't exactly known for having a consistent timeline but I think Paper Mario's appeal being the story for many people, more callbacks would be nice (as long as it's not forced. And the ones we have had haven't felt forced thankfully)

I'd say give the plot the ambition of Super but the focus of TTYD (Super's pacing and slow levels kinda held back the story for me even if I still kinda like it). But yeah I think the good thing about the experimentation is that it gives the team more ideas for the next game.

Would've been cool asf honestly. I just hope regardless of whether they go closer or further from one gameplay style, they continue having a focused development like CS and TOK. Cuz SS's biggest problem really is just a bad development.

Beta Sticker Star genuinely could've been a great game if they didn't rush such major changes more than halfway into its development. Like yeah a lot of what we have now was already in the beta, but imagine those elements with the scrapped mechanics (and a not-so-rushed development)

Honestly with the positive feedback the TTYD remake got and how good Origami King is, I'm excited to see what Intelligent Systems is cooking for the next Paper Mario game.

I hope whatever the next game is learns from the best and worst parts of both eras.
