Whew. The poem at 2:20. "...But I believe there are birds. Whose songs of love aren't heard by people who need to care." Clarity.

I had this too - and then had mixed feelings as classmates would teasingly call me Holly Hobbie sometimes. Sweet to see the pic.

Thanks Chris :) The community context can be so important 💜

(I think it caught me off guard a bit to feel that on campus again - a sad comment on our times in Florida higher ed.)

Alas it’s already “pending”

Yeah. I record Complete/Incomplete, but then give a holistic score on all those type of assignments at the end. It's not a big percentage of their grade but there is some accountability for not doing them at all.

I don’t know how much cheating I see, but related I think is what I’d call a “press for points” attitude to learning that to me has little to do with meaningful learning. I try to undo that habit (anxiety?) & offer assignments early on more about trying new skills for feedback rather than scores.

The mourning kit? Irony kit? Might have an audience, although not the intended one.

I’ve been learning parts yes… making marbled paper, printmaking & different basic binding methods. Would love to be able to take a sabbatical/semester off to try to put what I’m learning together. There are some simple Japanese stitch binding methods that are very accessible.
