One day, he wakes up to a confused Hannibal asking who Will is. Will knows he should keep his promise, and he shall. But he shall make sure Hannibal won't feel alone, so after he keeps his promise, Will follows him.

Hannibal is slowly losing himself more and more every day and asks Will once he has fully lost himself not to keep him suffering. Will says he would, he tried to be strong, stayed by Hannibal his side as he saw the man slowly turn into a husk of his former self.

Only Hannibal starts to forget more and more that it even worries Will. After some nagging from Wills's side, Hannibal finally agrees to see what might be wrong. The head injury that he sustained years ago is rearing its ugly head. The blunt force resulted in the increased risk of dementia.
