Friday team trios is a cool idea for people not in the vintage main event. But to play Old School (competitively) you need someone with power that isn’t playing in the vintage main event, which makes setting up your team in advance tough.

It looks like the legacy high roller is on Sunday instead. I think they are planning on legacy only players grinding trials all day Thursday and Friday.

Cards get better and worse all the time with rules updates. You already have Braid of Fire that adds mana in with an upkeep trigger. Also sometimes cards just don’t work anymore after a rules change that generally improves the game (Master of Arms).

Maybe I’m just an old man yelling at kids to get off my lawn, but having a carve out that allows people to bully others into taking their spells off the stack is a bananas tournament rule. MTRA 4.8: 🤡

Esper Tempo. It’s a long tournament and I think the fail rate of Opps will keep it out of the top 8 even though the deck is very powerful.
