Shapiro always stood a good chance of being brought back even without the AL pennant this year because he really improved the Dunedin complex & Rogers Centre over the last 10yrs which means a lot to the players so while Atkins may have been let go without it he stood a chance to stay but maybe not

Nobody needs him to be the high strikeout guy, if he can keep the ball on the infield with the Jays defence it's the perfect scenario for us

Not just Trey really any of this splitter guys who throw hard, Cease throws 97-100 on the regular then go look at a sub-arm at 83 with some movement waiting on that pitch will feel like you aged a year before it hits the plate

The winter meetings aren't the rapud fire signing spree they once were but damn would i feel better if the Jays at least got Bo re-signed before we all head home for the holidays

Despite being a playoff team 4 of the last 5 seasons but now you have the ones who have come here raving about clubhouse culture their wifes/kids speaking about how they are treated and now it's a place people want to come even if we hadn't lost the WS, the Mets have money but nobody talks about

I'm not a Mets fan so i can say this & i'll be as nice as possible...I do not believe you are objective & you aren't looking at why a player opts to leave for another team that isn't always $$ related - take my Jays for example, they struggled to land their big targets the last number of years

I wouldn't say he picked them weeks ago but I am sure it was in his mind, players do need to ensure a team has interest in bringing them in which of course the dodgers want anybody who has skill
