Exactly right, it's all iterative. I think that is part of the reason that AI is so hyped, because it is seemingly the first original idea in over a decade. I think that being memory conservative/aware in front end dev would be way cooler though :-P

But I guess that won't sell a phone/computer...

Everything I hear about tahoe has me worried about what is going on with apple. I just bought a mbp to compliment my linux desktop and it's I'm considering returning it because I'm not sure I have full confidence in the future of the software.

I really don't think that much has been added to tech that really enriches consumer lives since about 2012. It is nice to have some faster hardware but most software feels like added feature bloat and social media in particular has gone so far downhill.

Honestly, I'm all for LLMs being used as quick sketches of proof-of-concept or prototyping. That is an actually useful time-saving exercise in which end users don't get the bad end of the stick.

Realistically resistance leads to guardrails rather than dismantling. These concerns are all very legitimate, and guardrails should exist. I feel that there are many guardrails you could add while still empowering yourself with tech. All these things can be true at once.
